Blood Drive February 28th...At The Red Hook Brewery in Portsmouth NH!

This title was NOT a shameless attempt to get you to read this blog...really. Oh sure...I hear the sound of 200,000 groans as I'm writing this, but trust me, this is an American Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored in part by The Seacoast Board of REALTORS (SBR) in Portsmouth, NH.

This Blood Drive at the Red Hook Brewery will take placeContact Heidi Tripp Local ARC Coordinator between the hours of 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM with SBR volunteers helping with transport, setting up and sign-ins. Cookies, juice, crackers and baked goods will be provided to the Donors (Heroes). Anyone wishing to volunteer or looking for more information may contact Cheryl Brown or Linda Tuttle, Co-Chairs for the Seacoast Board of REALTORS Community Service Committee.

BTW - Special thanks to Todd Clark for raising MY awareness of the critical need for blood with his two recent posts January 28th and February 10th.

Also, just to be clear, FREE BEER is NOT included. LOL

Hi John, A Blood drive at the Red Hook Brewery in Portsmouth...clever planning and good idea.

Rene - Actually, this is not the first time ARC has used the Red Hook. When the Seacoast Board of REALTORS was looking to sponsor a blood drive, ARC suggested the Board facilities may be a little too small for this event.

John, If your area is like ours, blood supplies are low.  All the snow/cold has kept some of the regular donors out of participation.  I'm a regular myself, it's an easy thing to do and "almost" painless.  Bill

Seeing any Spring activity yet on the Seacoast?  Still quiet here, the weather keeping things quiet.

BLiz - Thanks for stopping by. We have the same shortages for the same reasons - tough winter. I have not donated in a while, but I will this time!

Rene - Things are still a bit slow, but our stats are up from last year.

They tell you not to drink after giving blood. The reason is because you have less blood and it is actually easier to get drunk. People have actually died because they think the can drink the same amount as they could before they gave blood.

Todd - I can only hope the participants here don't get the idea they can drink after donating. That can certainly spell disaster. Thanks again for your recent posts highlighting the need to give blood. It is critical here as well.
