Sell Your House Using The Law Of Attraction

Sell your house using The Law of Attraction...

The Secret To Selling

You've all heard of The Secret...the book and movie with the motto "Everything is Possible, Nothing is Impossible"....it's all about changing your life through the power of harnessing your thoughts.

While a positive attitude, power of belief, and vision board certainly can't hurt in the marketing of your house, that's not exactly where I'm going with this post.

When it comes to the real estate business, there's a whole different Law of Attraction.  It's quite simple in concept....

An attractive house will attract more buyers than an unattractive house.

before/after home staging new hampshire

Attractive is more visually and emotionally appealing.

Attractive is perceived as well maintained and cared for.

Attractive is perceived as more valuable.

Attractive is more desirable.

Attractive will sell faster and even for more money.

before/after New Hampshire Home Staging

It's simple in concept, but not easy to accomplish for most sellers.   It's the "how to" that makes it so challenging.  Most sellers don't have a clue where to begin.  They don't have an understanding of marketing, color and decorating trends, or the ability to ID red flags that will trigger a negative response from buyers.

THE SECRET is creating ATTRACTION through PRESENTATION.

Attractive will do it every time!  Another great set of photos and a job well done!

So true! I am a strong believer that a staged home will sell faster. Buyers tend to become wowed and fall in love with not only the house, but what the home could look like. Nice job Sharon!

Don't you mean "a-tara-action"?  It's you that made this happen.  Well done my friend, the "after" photos are great!

You bet...eye candy is a winner....!  Attraction in action or as Roger says...At-Tara-action....!

Sharon...the clutter being removed alone makes a huge difference, more good lessons for our seller clients.

Sharon- Love Roger's play on "attraction".  Once again you "staged" the perfect post.  Love your Before and After photos.

Debra:  Thank you!

Bill:  Showing buyers a lifestyle and future in the home is so important.

Roger:  There you go again, using "Tara" creatively.  I love it!

Sally & David:  Roger isn't the only one playing the "Tara" card, LOL!  Thank you!

Steve:  That is something you would think that sellers could handle on their own...but they often need guidance and a game plan for the obvious.

Kathy:  Roger is very good at using "Tara" and I never know when I'm going to get another new twist on my name!

Love the play on the laws of attraction and you put it out there, plain and simple-an attractive house makes all the difference.  The issue is, does a homeowner know what attractive to a buyer means? That's where they need to go with this.

Good morning Sharon. I was thinking of this book earlier today. Go figure. Anyway, you always make me smile. You understand that focus and knowledge are key, but action taken is where it happens.

Joanna:  No, the owner doesn't usually know what attracts and, more importantly, what turns away buyers.  Enter the professional stager to answer those questions.

Sheila:  That sounds like a great post topic....focus and knowledge are key, but action taken is where it happens... you need to get writing!

Roger:  Watch out everyone, the Roger flood gate has opened...no knowing what could come out!

Sharon, I've been MIA! A few weeks of sad unexpected Deaths and sickness. Just taking time to say hello and see what I've missed.

I've been reading a novel called Best Staged Plans by Claire Cook, I funny and informative look at staging.

Hi Sharon--what a really great post.  I have suggested as well.  I love your line, "most sellers don't have a clue where to begin".  So true.  The funny thing is if that one really believed and/or followed the concept of the The Secret they would be mandated to stage . . .  unless their desire was to sell for less money and wait many months to do so.

Posted by Janet Jones, Home Staging, Interior Redesign Kihei, Maui, Hawaii (Just Your Style Interiors, LLC) over 7 years ago

So spot on Sharon-absolutely true!!! Staging is the ultimate attraction for buyers feeling emotion in a home!

Posted by Cathy Lee, ASP, IAHSP, RESA Danville, CA (CL Design Services Home Staging) over 7 years ago

Hi Sharon!   This year, we changed our staging techniques, and found that the more attractive stagings produced better results.  So we're no longer doing those 'budget stagings'.   A great side effect has been that our portfolio looks better, and our online presentation attracts a more sophisticated, and better qualified client!   So, not only does the law of attractions sell houses, it helps to sell staging services!

P.S.  Could you send a little 'fall' down our way...... it's 96 today <G>!

Posted by Alicia Barrington, Houston Home Staging Presents Alicia Barrington (THE ORIGINAL HOUSTON HOME STAGING) over 7 years ago

Sally:  And we have a winner!  A Home Staging Consult will provide the direction the sellers need!

Ellen:  Sorry to hear you've been under such a dark cloud...hope things are looking brighter this week.

Frank & Karen:  We just need to educate the others who haven't caught on yet, LOL!

Roger:  LOL!  You, my friend, leave me speechless all the time!  OH, and that's not any easy thing to do!

Louise:  "Attractable"  -  I love it!

Karen:  Thank you...and yes, Roger is hysterical.  He outdid himself this time!

Teri:  I appreciate your enthusiasm!!

Janet:  Thank you so much!  Based on MLS pictures, I have to assume that many sellers can expect to get less than they listed for and will be spending an extended period of time on the market.

Cathy:  Emotions are running high and you want them to all be positive when it comes to buyers!

Tom:  Great point!  There are some staging jobs that I've done that I would never share photos of....the
"after" still looks too much like a "before" because the sellers weren't willing to make enough of an investment.  Not to say it wasn't an overall improvement...just not reaching the potential that I would have liked to have seen.   I've gotten more selective with the jobs I accept these days too.  I want a higher standard when it comes to my "brand" and reputation as a professional stager.

Tara - Love your analogy and love the Before & After's!  You really show the changes.  Buyers want attractive - it only makes sense.

Michelle:  Thank you!  Sometimes "sense" isn't what we are dealing with in this business, LOL!

Posted by Sharon Tara, New Hampshire Home Stager (Sharon Tara Transformations) over 7 years ago

Hi Sharon, sellers will almost always try to say that the buyer can change whatever they want in the house and that they do not want or feel the need to create an attractive home to buyers. I usually suggest that the same reasons they give for not wanting to do the suggestions is the same reason the buyer will not think that their home is for them. Great photos!
