"One Day On Earth" Is Your Opportunity To Put Something In The World's Time Capsule

Have you heard of "One Day On Earth" and it's documentation of the world's story?

The idea is to collect and showcase photos and videos from all over the world

all taken on the same day...11-11-11

"ONE DAY ON EARTH creates a picture of humanity by recording a 24-hour period throughout every country in the world."

One Day on Earth started in 2008 and the first "Day" documented was 10-10-10.  They collected over 3000 hours of footage!   You can explore the video archive to see the results.

The next One Day On Earth media creation event is happening on 11-11-11.

You can be a part of history by contributing a photo or video from that day.

The subject of your photo or video is up to you, whatever is important and meaningful in your life.  Here's your chance to put something in the world's time capsule.

Behind the Scenes - Part 1 from One Day On Earth on Vimeo.

There's going to be a motion picture too!

Interesting, It would be amazing if we had video archives like this for a hundred or even fifty years ago!

I think this is a great idea.  I wouldn't know what I would want to send for people to see in the future.

Gary:  That would be fascinating to watch. I guess this one will be just as exciting to people 50 years from now.

Gita:  I may contribute a photo, there are only a couple from my area from last year.

Kathy:  It's a great idea and impressive that every country was represented last time.

Peg:  The whole 11-11-11 date is cool and people seem to want to celebrate it so why not like this.

Debra:  I only looked at a few of the videos from last year, and some were amazing while others were quite really doesn't matter what you send...kind of cool to have your local area in the archives.

Hi Sharon--I had not heard of this, but think it is a phenomenal idea.  My husband takes thousands of photos every year and I thing we will collaborate on submitting something.  Thanks.

Craig:  I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait that long!  What about 12-12-12???

Alexandra:  Share what you contribute, so we can see too!  Not sure what to do about the works when I play it??

Ellen:  It's such a great idea!

Janet:  That's exciting!  Would love to see what you contribute.  I would love to share a picture with my boys (J and Z) but I won't be seeing them that day.
